Mayor Randy Pogue announced on Monday that the City of Kearney is seeking Statements of Qualifications from companies for the Community Pool and Land Planning Project.

The RFQ for the outdoor pool project has been posted to the City website's Bid Opportunities page. The deadline to submit an RFQ is Friday, September 9.

“Once we have selected the most qualified and best partner, I will announce meeting opportunities for you to have input on this exciting project,” stated Mayor Pogue.

According to the RFQ outline on the City’s website, Kearney is looking for a company to work on every aspect of the project, including design, engineering, cost estimation and construction administration/inspection for both land development and a pool facility.

A committee will look at all submissions and make recommendations to the Board of Aldermen and CID Board. Those boards will then select the firm they deem the most qualified to perform the proposed work.

The project is slated to be constructed on approximately 11 acres at the southwest corner of 19th Street and South Jefferson Street.
