Kearney Fire Offers EMT Basic Training

The Kearney Fire and Rescue Protection District is offering EMT Basic Training for people who are interested in a career in Emergency Medical Services. The course is designed for high school or college students looking to start a career, or adults who may be looking for a career change.

Classes will begin July 12, and run through December 20, 2022. They will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6pm to 10pm, with one Saturday afternoon per month for skills.

During supervised clinical rotations, students will learn in a real life setting of the Emergency Room and Ambulance. After successful completion of this program students will be able to sit for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician Practical and written test.

This program will be instructed by Professional Paramedics and EMT-Basics who are experts in the field with vast clinical experiences.

To sign up for this course, students may fill out the online form under the Training tab at KearneyFire.org, or print the registration packet and return it by mail to P.O. Box 341, Kearney, MO 64060. Students can also bring the completed packet to the station at 201 E. 6th Street in Kearney.

Course tuition is $1,200 which includes all books with additional fees that will be required for taking the National Registry Test. There is a minimum $350 deposit due to start class.
