Brian Watts - General Manager

Brian Watts – Brian’s radio career started in his hometown of Humboldt, Iowa while still in high school. He worked for 97.7 KHBT where he supervised the scheduled, pre-recorded radio shows, played and announced music live on air, read news updates, weather forecasts, local features and special announcements. Brian serves as Secretary on the 102.7FM Board of Directors, Secretary of the Kearney Business Group, and he is a Past President of the Kearney Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He produces his weekday morning show, The K-Town Morning Zone with Brian Watts, Kearney LIVE, KMO-TV News and Bulldog Radio Network football, basketball, baseball and softball games.


Jim Dickerson - President/Operations director

Jim Dickerson – The play-by-play “Voice of Kearney Bulldog Football,” Jim is President of the 102.7FM Board of Directors and he co-hosts Kearney Live and The Coach Minnick Show. He is the CEO of Prime Broadcast Group, a multimedia production company focusing on the development, production and distribution of informative and entertainment programs over a variety of platforms. Jim previously hosted a number of television programs including Kansas City Live and Behind the Badge, where he was nominated for 3 CableACE Awards. He has been heard on the WHB 810 Varsity Sports Network, the sports talk show The Final Score and he also announces at various aviation events. Jim is the Director of Operations at EquityJet and he and his wife Sarah are both commercial pilots who also enjoy flying their Oshkosh award winning antique 1947 C-120.

 


Stacie Bratcher - vice president/Kearney Live Host

Stacie Bratcher – Stacie serves as the Vice President on the Board of Directors. She has been with 102.7FM and KMO-TV since 2019 as a frequent guest host of Kearney Live and she joined the show as a permanent host in 2022. Stacie is very active in the Kearney Community as she serves as the Executive Director of the Kearney Chamber of Commerce, Co-Chair for the Chamber of Commerce Executives of Missouri District 3, and President of the Liberty Sertoma Club (a civic organization). Stacie believes that in order to lead the local business community the chamber must first lead itself well, setting the example with a higher standard for ‘doing business’. She is a Doniphan Leadership Institute Fellow and past participant of the Nonprofit Connect Executive Director Institute (EDI) and the Missouri Chamber Management Academy. Stacie holds a BA in Communications and Public Relations from William Jewell College. 


Bill Teel - Chief Financial Officer

Bill Teel - Chief Financial Officer

Bill Teel – Bill earned an accounting degree in 1972 and an MBA in 1978 from Pittsburg State University. He served as an officer in the U.S Navy from 1972 – 1975. Home ported in Pearl Harbor, Bill completed two deployments to the Western Pacific during his service. In 1978, Bill joined Arthur Anderson & Co. as a CPA in the audit division. His clients included Hallmark Cards, the Kansas City Missouri School District, National Pizza Company, the American Cancer Society of Kansas and many others. His main emphasis was in manufacturing and real estate. In 1985, Bill joined T.J Cinnamons when the concept was first launched in Kansas City. During his 7 plus years there, the company grew from one bakery to over 225 bakeries. Bill also served two years as the Chief Operating Officer of K.C. Masterpiece Barbecue & Grill and two years as Co-Owner of the Boulevard Grill and joined the Golden Ox as Co-Owner in November of 2003. He currently serves as the Executive Director of the Missouri Restaurant Association and and serves as a board member for the Kansas City Chapter of the Navy League.

Tony Holland - IT Managment and security

Tony Holland – Tony serves on the Board of Directors and is the President and CEO of KC Coyote, located in Kearney, Missouri. Beginning operations as Isotech in June of 1986, the company started as an independent sales organization reselling hardware for Unisys Corporation. Isotech also provided software and wrote custom programs. While working with many rural small to medium size businesses, Tony saw a great need in the rural areas for computer skills. In November 2000, after a total makeover, Isotech, Inc. opened as a technology resource center providing local fax, copy, and shipping services. When Internet access in their rural communities was only available by dialing long distance, Isotech installed local Internet dial-up service for the areas between Gower, Plattsburg, Kearney, Liberty, and Smithville. In 2006, the dial-up service was converted into terrestrial fixed wireless Internet. KC Coyote now offers internet service within the state of Missouri to an estimated 516,000 people.


Kelly Gentry - Sports director

Kelly GentryKelly joined 102.7FM and the Bulldog Radio Network in 2018 as a basketball color commentator and has grown that role to include color analyst for football as well as play by play for basketball. He has also added play by play commentator for Bulldog baseball and softball games. As a player, Kelly was an All State selection in both Football and Basketball at Penney High School. Kelly comes to the broadcast team with 20 years of coaching experience. He works in the medical sales industry full time but previously worked for Learfield/IMG Sports in sports marketing and media at the University of Missouri athletic department. Kelly volunteers as an Advisor for the National Small College Basketball Hall of Fame and is a Board member for the Kearney School District Education Foundation. 


Eric Stevens - Bulldog Sports Announcer

Eric StevensEric became a Bulldog Radio Network basketball color commentator in 2019 and has grown that role to include play by play and color analyst for Bulldog baseball and softball games. As a player, Eric participated in high school football, basketball, golf, track and baseball at Worth County. He was an all-conference and all-district basketball player. Eric has spent several years coaching competitive baseball, Pop Warner football, and KHRA basketball with his own Bulldog children: Jacob, Maddi and Caleb. He worked at Cerner Corporation for 28 years before retiring as Director of Product Operations in 2023. Eric truly enjoys being part of the 102.7FM Bulldog Radio Network and giving back to the Kearney sports community.


MIKE DAVIS - SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT REPORTER/BULLDOG SPORTS

Mike Davis – Before his retirement in June 2023, Mike served as President of the 102.7FM Board of Directors and as station Marketing Director. He continues to work on special assignment with the The Coach Minnick Show, with the Bulldog Football live broadcast team, and as a special assignment reporter with the Bulldog Radio Network. In a recent statement to KPGZ, Mike said, “My work with the wonderful people at Prime Broadcast Group has been one of the most fulfilling adventures of my career. It has been a blessing to be a part of the staff and volunteers at KPGZ who continue to dedicate themselves to providing Kearney with a high-quality home town broadcast news and information resource.”



Leonard Broughton - Kearney Live Host

Leonard Broughton – Leonard (Len) joined 102.7FM and KMO-TV as a guest host on Kearney Live in 2023 and joined the team as a permanent co-host later that year. He moved to Kearney from Northwest Ohio in 2009. Leonard works as a material handler at General Motors, where he has been employed for 25 years and he currently serves as a board member with the Kearney, Missouri School District. Leonard and his wife Kelly have 3 children, Audriana, Mitchell and Brock. Leonard and Kelly are also the proud grandparents of Brinley, Sienna, Hawkins and Everly.


Jim Dier - Community Relations Director/News

Jim Dier – Jim served several years on the Board of Directors and his Kearney community spirit is a perfect qualification for his role as Community Relations Director. You’ll hear his on-air voice as he keeps Kearney informed with his morning news broadcast. Jim completed a 30-year career with the United States District Court in Baton Rouge, Wichita, and Kansas City, Kansas before he and his wife Debbie moved to the area in 1995. Since then he has been an active member of the Kearney-Holt community by serving on several advisory boards and initiating dozens of personal and community service projects. He served on the Kearney School Board for 6 years, the Holt Fire District Board for 6 years - 5 years as president, and the Kearney Education Foundation Advisory Board for 4 years.


Pete Chaston - Chief meteorologist/Weather director

Pete Chaston - Chief meteorologist/Weather director

Pete Chaston (1943 – 2022) – Pete was born on December 31, 1943 in the Bronx of New York City. He served in the Air Force as a weather technician and went on to obtain his Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology/Oceanography from New York University.

Prior to coming to KPGZ, he developed and led a training program that teaches meteorologists how to forecast. He developed a snow forecasting technique that is now used by weather forecasters across the country to forecast amounts of snow. Pete has written five books on weather, which are used by numerous colleges in their college curriculum.

Pete grew up in New York City during the original doo-wop era, listening to Alan Freed on the radio, going to the rock'n'roll shows to see and hear the doo-wop groups, and singing on the street corner with his friends. Pete has produced doo-wop radio shows in Upstate New York, on Rock-it Radio in Ventura, California as well as on KPGZ for over five years.

Pete passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Liberty Hospital. He was 78 years old.
