*Candidates may file at the school district offices located beginning December 22, 2020 at 8:00 a.m*

Residents in the Kearney R-1 School District who have an interest in serving on the School Board will be able to file for positions beginning next week. Candidates may file at the school district offices located at 150 W. State Route 92, Kearney, MO beginning on December 22, 2020 at 8:00 a.m.

There are two positions available and the electors will occupy the positions for a three year term.

The district office is open between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. weekdays for candidates to file their intention of running for a seat on the board, however the office will close on December 22 at 4:00 p.m. and remain closed until January 4, 2021. Filing will also not occur on days that the school district is closed for inclement weather.

In the event the district is closed due to a COVID-related event, other than on the first day of filing, filing will be by appointment only and made by contacting the board secretary at 816-628-4116.

Filing for board positions will close on January 19, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. as required by law. Election Day is April 6, 2021.
