The Kearney School District announced the new dates for the Kindergarten Round up due to the reopening delay of the 2020-21 school year. At a special meeting on August 3rd, the school board announced that the district start date would be pushed back to September 8th.

The Kindergarten Round-up has also been rescheduled to August 26th & 27th. Families will be mailed information on who their child’s teacher will be this year before August 26th.

New families to the district may attend the in-person open house any time between 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. on August 26th to meet the teacher and speak with nurses and office staff. For safety purposes, attendance for this event is limited to 1-2 adults per family along with the new Kindergartner. Siblings will not be allowed to attend this event. Additionally, due to health guidelines, the school district asks families to limit their time in the classroom to approximately 10 minutes.

On August 27th, Kindergartners will spend time experiencing Kindergarten daily events as parents and guardians drop-off students at 8:30 a.m. Students will be ready to be picked up at 11:30 a.m.
