Motorcycle Crash Turns Fatal

A car vs. motorcycle crash, which occurred at US 69 and Highway 92 near Excelsior Springs, injured one person and killed another on Saturday, August 8th.

MHP Troop A has recorded 129 fatalities in 2020

The Missouri Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred when a 2007 Honda Civic attempted to turn left from northbound US 69 onto westbound Mo-92 into the path of a Harley Davidson Motorcycle.

The motorcycle hit the right rear of the Honda, and the driver and passenger of the motorcycle were ejected over the handlebars.

The driver of the motorcycle, Travis R. Jones, 32 of Lawson, suffered minor injuries. The passenger of the motorcycle, Emily R. Locke, 33 also of Lawson, was transported to Excelsior Springs Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the car was not injured. This crash is the 8th fatality crash for the month in Missouri Highway Patrol’s Troop A area and the 129th fatality in 2020.
