KPD is Looking Forward to K-9 Night

Kearney K-9 Officers Krash and Joran, along with their human counterparts Corporal Garton and Officer Parton, want to meet Kearney residents on August 27.

La Fuente Mexican Restaurant, located at 700 Watson Drive in Kearney, is hosting K9 Night this Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, and it’s a chance for the community to see how the K-9 program works. Garton and Parton will be on site to answer any questions about the K9 unit, show the car set ups, and talk about safety measures that they currently have in place for the K9 vehicles. They will even provide photo opportunities.

The management and staff at La Fuente, who have been extremely supportive of the local police department and the programs directed to assist the community, have agreed to host an evening to support the Kearney Police Department’s K-9 Unit which is primarily donation funded. Funds received will go towards basic maintenance associated with the care and equipment to keep the unit running.

The Police Department encourages diners to call ahead for take out because seating is limited inside the restaurant due to county COVID-19 restrictions.
