Four Vehicle Crash Injures Three Local Residents

A four vehicle crash occurred on I-35 and I-435 in Clay County on Thursday, August 27, when a vehicle driven by Shawn E. McBee, (26) of Kearney caused a chain reaction crash.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reports that southbound traffic was stopped on the interstate when McBee overtook and struck the rear of another southbound vehicle being driven by Chelsey L. Brown (29) of Liberty.

Brown’s vehicle was then pushed into the rear of a third vehicle, occupied by Angela M. Bell (45) of Kearney. Bell’s vehicle was pushed into a vehicle being driven by David A. Reid (46) of Kearney.

McBee, Brown, and Bell all reported minor injuries in the crash, however their vehicles had extensive damage and had to be towed from the scene of the crash.

Reid did not report injuries and was able to drive his vehicle from the scene. All individuals involved were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
