Bulldog Weekly Sports Recap
/Bulldog athletics were bringing home the gold last week in conference meets and games. Here is a KPGZ Bulldog Sports recap:
Boys Swimming
The Boys Swim Team traveled to Gladstone this weekend to compete at the Blue/Red Varsity Conference Championships. They won the title for the 7th time.
In previous meets, the Bulldogs were scoring behind rival Platte County by 62 points, but fought hard and won the meet by 11 points. Platte County did not make this win easy, but each member of the Bulldogs stepped up to defend the championship title. Each member of the Bulldogs left the meet having placed in the Top 8 and earning a medal in at least one of their events.
Cross Country
This year for the first time ever, the state put 4 districts together in cross country. There were 17 teams in the Bulldog's district. The girls placed first by 45 points to qualify for the state meet. All seven girls made the all-district team. The first team members are: Alex Kinstler 1st, Abby Elam – 3rd, Heidi Adams – 7th, Olivia Brock – 10th, Liela Murphy – 12th, Bella Donze – 15th. 2nd team member is Gracie Bomar – 22nd.
The boys placed 4th by twelve points and also qualified for the state championship. The second team all-district members are: Jackson Elsea – 22nd, Kyler Chappell – 25th and Cody Adams – 28th.
Boys Soccer
The boys soccer team traveled to Raytown South on October 26, for a conference match vs. the Cardinals.
The JV battled to a nil nil draw. The varsity won 4-2. Goals for the Bulldogs came from Angelo Donze, Tanner Nichols, Aidan Komarek, and Liam Ridle. The win brings the Bulldogs to 11-9 overall, and 7-4 in conference play.
The last regular season game is Thursday at 5:30 at home vs. Ruskin.
