Vehicle Break-ins Along 92 Highway

Clay County Sheriff’s Office Detectives are investigating another round of vehicle break-ins along 92 Highway last weekend.

Thieves have once again targeted vehicles parked at homes along 92 Highway near A Highway, just west of Kearney. Detectives are uncertain whether or not the thieves that struck vehicles this past weekend are the same people who struck two weeks ago.

Detectives stated that thieves took guns and power tools from unlocked vehicles last weekend. Two weekends ago the Sheriff’s Office reported that cars, guns, cash and more were taken from unlocked vehicles.

Detectives haven’t made any certain connections between the crimes from last weekend and two weekends ago, but they are working to determine if both events were done by the same person or persons.

The Sheriff’s Office advises all residents to make sure their vehicles are locked and secured if left outside. They also advise vehicle owners not to leave money, valuables, or guns in vehicles.
