Weather Service Warns of High Winds

The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Watch for Kearney and northwest Missouri and southwest Iowa. The watch begins on Wednesday morning and lasting through Wednesday evening.
Southwest winds will continue through the day ranging from 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 40 mph and increasing to 65 mph in the afternoon.
The National Weather Service advises that damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines, widespread power outages are possible, and travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
A few thunderstorms are possible Wednesday evening. While chances are not high at this time, if storms develop they could be strong to severe.
