Kearney Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash

A motorcycle crash in southern Missouri claimed the life of a Kearney resident on Friday, May 28. The crash occurred in Dallas County at about 3 pm on Highway 64, a half mile west of Bennett Springs, Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Robert C. Pence, 61, died in a crash with a vehicle making a turn in front of him. The vehicle was slowing down to make a right turn in front of Pence. Pence’s motorcycle began to slide, overturned and ejected him into the westbound lanes where he was struck by a vehicle driven by Dedra West of Lebanon.

West was not injured in the crash. Pence was pronounced dead at the scene.
