Amphitheater Brings Back Summer Concerts

Kearney’s Summer Concert Series was one of the many events the COVID-19 pandemic closed down in 2020. Although Jesse James Park remained open to the public last summer, the amphitheater was noticeably silent.

This year Kearney kicks off summer events with the fireworks celebration on Friday, July 2. The city will have inflatables for the kids and a free concert featuring Noe Palma. The concert starts at 7:30 pm, and the fireworks start at 9:30 pm.

On August 7, the Amphitheater brings in the Kearney Country Showdown featuring Tate Stevens. Opening up for Stevens is Big Time Grain Co., Craig Sheller, and Cody Vanderau. Gates open at 4:00 pm, and the show begins at 5:00 pm.

Classic rock band Head East is back on the Amphitheater stage on August 21. Opening up for Head East is the band Goddesses of Rock. Gates open at 7:00 pm, and the show starts at 8:00 pm.

August 28 on the Amphitheater stage is the Kearney Blues Fest. This year Kearney is inviting some well-established bands in the Kansas City blues community including The Old No, 5’s, Rev. Jimmie Bratcher, The Taylor Smith Band, and MAHAN. Gates open at 4:00 pm, and the show begins at 5:00 pm.

On September 25, the Kearney Amphitheater hosts Country Tributes. Artists featured include Ultimate Aldean and Ultimate Luke Bryan. Gates open at 7:00 pm, and the show starts at 8:00 pm.

Wrapping up the Kearney Amphitheater season is Oktoberfest on October 2, featuring The Brian McCarty Band.
