Kearney Police Seek Vandalism Suspect
/Eye witnesses reported an individual allegedly vandalizing the vehicle of a Kearney School District staff member on Friday. A parent posted a notice from the Kearney School District on social media describing the incident.
The incident occurred in the parking lot of Dogwood Elementary School at about 10 am on Friday, June 25. The witness who saw the alleged crime immediately made an emergency call to the Kearney Police Department. When the individual realized that he had been observed, he fled the scene before police officers arrived. Police have determined the individual was attempting to cut the catalytic converter from the vehicle.
The Kearney Police Department is looking for a white male with multiple tattoos, wearing black shorts and a gray t-shirt. The vehicle the individual was driving was a white Chevrolet either 1500 series or 2500 series, four door, 4X4 pickup. The vehicle has black side mirrors, smoked drip rails, black wheels with chrome centers, tube style running boards and a ladder in back.
