This year, 10,807 school buses rated as “approved” upon initial inspection.

Kearney School District was one of 277 Missouri school districts that earned the Patrol’s Total Fleet Excellence award. The district’s fleet of 40 buses earned a 100% approval rate on its annual state inspection, according to a district announcement. That compares to a state average of about 90%.

“The team at Durham have really gone above and beyond this year and have earned this 100 percent approval rate,” said Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Student Services Jeff Morrison. “I’m grateful to them for doing an amazing job of maintaining our buses, keeping our kids safe and operating effectively and efficiently. Our schools absolutely depend on their support.”

During the 2021-2022 school year, 5,738 buses in these award-winning fleets are eligible to display the Patrol’s Total Fleet Excellence sticker in the lower corner of the first window on the passenger entry side of the bus.
