Bulldog Weekly Sports Recap
/Bulldog athletes keep coming home with great scores and top placements in their fields. Here’s a look at how Bulldogs did this week in sports:
Cross Country
In cross country action the girls placed 1st and the boys 3rd as a team at the Smithville Invitational.
Varsity medalists were: Alex Kinstler 1st, Kyler Chappell 2nd, Abby Elam 4th, Heidi Adams 6th, Cody Adams 6th, Liela Murphy 10th, Olivia Brock 11th, Isabella Donze 18th and Noah Thurston 20th.
Girls Golf
Both Varsity and JV were in action Monday, September 20. The Varsity traveled to Paradise Pointe (The Posse) in Smithville to compete in the Tom Stout Invitational hosted by Oak Park High School. The JV traveled to Shirkey Golf Course in Richmond to compete in the Odessa Varsity Invitational.
The Varsity finished 4th as a team with a total score of 388. Kenzi Kutch was the low round for Kearney with an 89 and finished in a tie for 5th place. The JV finished 10th as a team with a total score of 499. Kayla Resler was the low round for Kearney with a 123 on her 18-hole round.
Boys Swimming
The Boys Swim Team traveled to Gladstone Friday, September 17 and Saturday, September 18 to participate in the NKCSD Invite. The boys swam well and finished 11th out of 23 teams with a score of 81 points.
Individual Highlights:
Ridge McBride finished 15th in the 200 freestyle with a 1:55.92. Ridge also finished 17th in the 100 fly with a 58.59.
Adam Hoffman finished 13th in the 50 freestyle with a 23.55. Adam also finished 16th in the 100 fly with a 58.55.
Scott Doll finished 6th in the 500 freestyle with a 5:01.28. Scott also finished 14th in the 100 breast with a 1:05.36
The 200yd freestyle relay finished 9th overall with a time of 1:35.54. That relay consisted of Adam Hoffman, Lane Austin, Ridge McBride and Scott Doll.
The 400 freestyle relay finished 8th with a 3:35.55. That relay also consisted of Adam Hoffman, Lane Austin, Ridge McBride and Scott Doll.
Girls Tennis
On Friday, September 17, eight of the KHS Varsity athletes traveled to St. Joe to compete in their varsity tournament. It was a long day full of matches, but the athletes came home with medals.
Grace Kimberlin placed 2nd in B singles
Shelby Flanigan and Flannery Simmons placed 4th in A doubles
Rachael Hallier and Emmy Beyeler placed 1st in B doubles.
