Clay County Parks and Recreation, along with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Missouri Department of Conservation, is hosting Eagle Days next month. This is the 27thyear for the event.

Eagle programs are scheduled from 9 am to 3:30 pm on Saturday, January 7, and from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm on Sunday, January 8. Conservation agents will be stationed around the lake to answer questions and help visitors use spotting scopes.

Eagle Days also includes captive eagle shows at the Paradise Pointe Golf Course Clubhouse by Operation Wildlife. Exhibits will also be available by the Martha Lafite Thompson Nature Sanctuary, the Friends of Lakeside Nature Center, Wings of Love, and the Clay County Parks and Recreation Department. Some of those exhibits will also include live raptors or terrestrial wildlife such as turtles.

Operation Wildlife captive eagle programs are scheduled for 9:30 and 11 am, and noon and 2 pm on Saturday. On Sunday the programs are scheduled for 11 am, and 12:30 and 2 pm.

The Paradise Point Golf Course Clubhouse is located at 18212 Golf Course Drive, in Smithville.
