KHS Brings Steel Magnolias to the Stage
/Kearney High School’s performing arts department is preparing for its spring play, the stage classic Steel Magnolias.
Steel Magnolias is a stage play by American writer Robert Harling. It’s based on his experience with his sister’s death. The play is a comedy-drama about the bond among a group of Southern women in northwest Louisiana. As the title suggests, the “female characters are as delicate as magnolias but as tough as steel.”
Shows will start at 7 p.m. on March 28-April 2 in the Black Box Theater at KHS. There will be a special Saturday matinee at 1 p.m. on April 2. Seating is limited and there will not be any discounts for this production. Tickets are $10 each.
