Unemployment Rate Continues to Tick Lower

Missouri’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased by one-tenth of a percentage point in March 2022, declining to 3.6 percent from the revised February 2022 rate of 3.7 percent. The March rate was 1.2 percentage points lower than the March 2021 rate. The estimated number of unemployed Missourians was 109,474 in March, down by 4,541 from February’s 114,288.

The national unemployment rate decreased from 3.8 percent in February 2022 to 3.6 percent in March 2022.  Missouri’s unemployment rate has been at or below the national rate for the last five years.
