KSD Launches New Strategic Planning Process
/Kearney School District is seeking input from staff, students, parents/guardians and community members during its strategic planning process this fall.
Every three to five years, Kearney School District takes time to evaluate its goals and desired outcomes. The result is a visionary plan that serves as a navigation chart for everything the district does. KSD’s current strategic plan sunsets this year.
“Our schools are defined by high-quality educational experiences and supported by a community of students, parents, faculty and staff,” Superintendent Emily Miller said. “This joint effort extends to our strategic planning. Together, we frame the future for our students!”
There are three main ways for stakeholders to participate in this process:
Completing the KSD Strategic Planning Survey
Participating in a Strategic Planning Focus Group
Joining the KSD Strategic Planning Committee
All KSD stakeholders will be asked to complete an online survey soon. A handful of focus group sessions will also be held with a small number of people apiece.
A select group of approximately 40 KSD staff, parents/guardians and students will be asked to join the Strategic Planning Committee. Its members should be prepared to work together with an open, collaborative and non-judgmental mindset. They should maintain a focus on developing proactive solutions that best serve all students and the entire community.
Stakeholders should complete the online form if they would like to contribute to the KSD Strategic Planning Process by joining a focus group or serving on the committee:
Kearney School District Strategic Planning Process Interest Form
This form will be open until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18. Submissions will be reviewed by Dr. Miller and her leadership team. Notifications will be sent to those selected for the committee by the close of business on Thursday, Sept. 22. District staff will also follow up with those who are interested in participating in one of the upcoming focus group sessions. Submission of an interest form does not guarantee selection for either the focus groups or the committee.
Updates about this process will be posted to www.ksdr1.net/strategicplan. Questions can be directed to communications@ksdr1.net.
All news media inquiries should be directed to Kearney School District Director of Communications and Community Relations Ray Weikal at weikalr@ksdr1.net or (816) 589-1496.
