Oktoberfest Returns to Downtown Kearney

The Kearney Enrichment Council is hosting Kearney’s 11th Annual Oktoberfest this year on Saturday, October 1, in downtown Kearney.

In the past the event took place at the Jesse James Park, but this year the Enrichment Council is bringing the event downtown with activities for everyone.

The all-day festival begins at noon with the Brian McCarty Polka band and a kid’s carnival on Washington Street which includes a rock wall, mechanical bull, inflatables, cotton candy, and more. Also opening at noon is a local artisan vendors area and beer and food truck sales.

At the Nelson Home Group Main Stage there will be the Mayor’s Keg Tapping, Kid's Silly Song's with Ry, Studio 320 dancers, as well as live music acts. At 7 pm the band One Night Stand will take the stage.

The Enrichment Council is charging $5 per person to get into the event and enjoy all the festivities. All proceeds of the event will go to three local charities, the Kearney Food Pantry, Fulfillment House, and the Kearney Enrichment Council.
