Jones Joins UCM Football
/Coach Greg Jones, who was the head coach at Kearney and Liberty North High Schools, has returned to Missouri to step into the defensive coordinator position at the University of Central Missouri.
Jones left the Liberty North Program in 2022 to be a defensive analyst for the Oregon Ducks. He stepped away from that position earlier this month.
“I’m excited to be here and ready to hit the ground running,” Jones stated. “I’m honored that Coach Lamberson chose me to be part of his staff and the University of Central Missouri, and I’m looking forward to getting to know and work with the coaches and student-athletes. I know Coach’s expectations are high, and I’m fired up to help the Mules achieve them.”
Jones had an impressive 31-6 record at Liberty North High School, and three runner-up finishes at the state championship.
During his eleven-year career at Kearney High School, he had a record of 119-23 and won two state championships.
