Deputies Assist KCPD Catch Violent Suspects

The Kansas City Missouri Police Department asked for help from the area county deputies to apprehend two suspects who had fled from the scene of a shooting. The incident happened in the 300 block of Englewood Road in KCMO at 1:40 am Monday.

While searching for the suspects, Clay County Deputies spotted one of the individuals run into an apartment complex, then into a wooded area. They pointed out the direction to a KCPD K-9 officer team, which located and arrested that suspect.

The Platte County Missouri Sheriff's Office also assisted by deploying their thermal drone. The drone operator saw a heat signature in the backyard of a house at 57th and Grand and directed two Clay County Deputies to that location. They found the second suspect hiding behind a shed and took him into custody.

Both suspects have been charged with multiple counts including attempted robbery, armed criminal action and assault. They are being held in the Clay County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.
