Missouri Unemployment Rises Again

Missouri's smoothed seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased by one-tenth of a percentage point in November, increasing to 3.2 percent from the revised October rate of 3.1 percent. The November rate was half of a percentage point higher than the November 2022 rate of 2.7 percent. The estimated number of unemployed Missourians was 100,927 in November, up 3,105 from October's 97,822.

Missouri's labor force participation rate was 63.5 percent in November, seven-tenths of a percentage point higher than the national rate of 62.8 percent. Missouri's employment-population ratio was 61.4 percent in November, nine-tenths of a percentage point higher than the national rate of 60.5 percent.

Missouri's unemployment rate was 3.2 percent in November, half a percentage point lower than the national rate of 3.7 percent. Missouri's unemployment rate has been at or below the national rate for more than eight years.
