Wallet Theft Suspects Identified

Thanks to tips from local citizens, the Liberty Police Department has identified suspects who allegedly stole credit cards out of women’s purses. The suspects have been identified as Pedro Hernandez-Diaz and Rosa Rodriguez-Ponce.

The case isn’t closed yet though. Liberty Police need help locating the suspects.

Last week, police asked the public’s assistance in identifying these individuals who were involved with the recent wallet thefts. “They've racked up over $58,000 in charges on stolen credit cards,” stated a post on their Facebook page.

The police department received reports of thieves who were using distraction tactics, often with an accomplice, to target wallets.

Those that have any information on the whereabouts of Diaz and Ponce are asked to contact the Liberty Police Department at 816-439-4730 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
