Bulldog Sports Recap
/The end of January starts Conference games for the basketball teams while the wrestling teams are looking forward to post season tournaments. Here’s your KPGZ Bulldog Sports Recap.
Girls Wrestling
The Girls wrestling squad wrapped up the regular season and the conference schedule on February 1, with a 66-0 win over a shorthanded Ruskin squad. This victory brings the squad's dual record to 9-0 and guarantees the GKC Blue Division Championship.
The varsity is getting dialed for the district tournament this Friday, February 10, and Saturday, February 11.
On Friday, January 27, the Girls wrestled their last regular season tournament at the George Hoover Invitational hosted at Liberty High School. A total team effort propelled them to a team championship by a 30+ point margin over second-place Fort Osage. The girls are firing at the right time as they head into the district tournament in two weeks.

Boys Wrestling
The Boys squad took a small group of Varsity wrestlers to compete in the Liberty 'George Hoover' Invitational on Saturday, January 28. Here are the highlights of the match:

Girls Basketball
The Varsity Girls Basketball team lost to Park Hill South in the semifinals of the North Kansas City Tournament 63-37 on February 2.
Jadyn Barnes led the Bulldogs with 9 points. JoJo Kutch led with 6 rebounds.
The loss brings the Varsity's record to 8-11.
Boys Basketball
The Varsity Boys Basketball team opened up conference play on the road Tuesday, January 30, vs the Ruskin Eagles. The Bulldogs struggled to score in the first half while the Eagles poured in 25 1st quarter points connecting on four 3 pointers.
The Bulldogs dug themselves a hole and went into halftime down 39-14. The 2nd half was a little better for the Bulldogs as the pressure and intensity picked up after halftime. Despite going 2/17 from 3 and 10/23 from the freethrow line the Bulldogs were step for step with the Eagles in the 2nd half.
Unfortunately the Bulldogs couldn't overcome the deficit from the start of the game. The Bulldogs lost 75-50. Sophomore Drew Wilson led the way for the Bulldogs with 13 points. Cameron Webster finished with 9 points.
