Bulldog Sports Recap

Spring sports have officially started and Bulldog athletes are ready to play! Here are this week’s highlights in your KPGZ Bulldog sports recap:

Boys Tennis

The Boys Tennis team has officially kicked off their season with a full week of matches!

On Tuesday, March 28, the Bulldogs traveled to Truman for their first official team match of the 2023 season. The Bulldogs came out strong and ended the night with a Varsity score 6-3 and a JV score 7-2.

On Thursday, March 30, the Bulldogs hosted their first match of the 2023 season vs Liberty North. The night ended with Varsity 3-6 and JV 0-9.

Girls Soccer

On Thursday, March 30, the Bulldogs faced off against Blue Springs for their home opener. The JV played very well, but came up short, closing the night with a 0-1 loss. Their record is now 1-1 for the season.

The varsity came out strong last night with a goal in the first 2.5 minutes of the game from Bri Reynolds. The wildcats retaliated with a goal to end the half tied 1-1. In the first 2.5 minutes of the 2nd half Kylie Deason took a free kick which deflected off the head of the Blue Springs defender for goal #2. The Bulldogs closed the night with a 2-1 win. The varsity record is now 3-2.

Boys Golf

On Wednesday, March 29, the Bulldogs traveled to the Varsity Winnetonka Invitational Tournament at Hodge Park. The varsity team put together a solid round earning a 4th place finish shooting a 338 as a team. Canton Woods was the 1st place medalist shooting a 1-under par for a score of 69. Aiden Tyner finished T-15th shooting an 87 and Carter Smith finished 19th shooting an 88.
