Bulldog Sports Recap

The Bulldogs are winning a few and losing a few this season. Here is your KPGZ Bulldog Sports recap:

Girls Soccer

On Tuesday, April 18, the girls hosted the Ray-Pec Panthers. The JV squad came away with a 1-1 tie. The lone goal was scored by Ella Olberding. The varsity squad fought hard, but fell short with a 2-3 loss. Goals were scored by Gracie Bomar and Addy Fischer.

The Varsity team traveled to the North Kansas City DAC on Thursday, April 20, to play in the first round of the NKC tournament. The girls ended the game with a 2-1 win over Oak Park, with the goals being scored by Addy Fischer and Bella Donze.

Boys Tennis

The Bulldogs hosted a match vs Staley on Monday, April 17. The Bulldogs put up quite the battle, but unfortunately the varsity team lost 2-7. 

Preston Murphy at #3 singles (8-3) and Colton Pazdera/Leyton Ross at #1 doubles (8-6) were the only wins for the varsity.

The JV team came out strong and ended the night with the win 5-4.

Aiden Hansen (6-1), Keenan Haney (6-1), and Drew Heimsoth (6-4) all won their singles matches for the JV team. Aiden Hansen/Noah Plummer (6-1) and Keenan Haney/Drew Heimsoth (6-2) won their doubles matches earning the win for the JV team.

Boys Golf

On Monday, April 17, the JV boys golf team participated in the LSN Bronco Invitational at the Fred Arbanas Golf Course. Freshman Carter Brock was the low round for the Bulldogs shooting an 86 (T-21st). Nick Turley finished T-33rd shooting an 89. As a team the Bulldogs finished 13th out of 24 teams shooting a 367.

On Tuesday April 18, the JV and Varsity boys golf team participated in a 9-hole match vs Staley at the Excelsior Springs Golf Course. Staley beat the Bulldogs in the Varsity match by 6 strokes 181-187. The Bulldogs won the JV match 197-201. Canton Woods was the medalist, with the lowest score, for the match shooting a 41.

Girls Track and Field

On Tuesday, April 18, the Varsity Girls Track and Field team travelled to Smithville and had many personal records or season bests on their way to a 2nd place finish.
