Bulldog Sports Recap
/The Bulldogs had some wins and losses this week, but they are still hot. Here’s your KPGZ Bulldog Sports Update.
Baseball
On Wednesday, April 5, the Bulldogs drop a tough one against Truman 6-7.
The Bulldogs found themselves down early 3-0 and then 6-1 but came back to tie it up in the 6th inning with four runs. The Patriots scored one in the bottom of the 6th to take the lead and held on in the 7th inning. Bryce Page and Kamp Cunningham did a great job in the middle innings on the mound to give the offense a chance to come back.
The offense was lead by Porter (1-3), Linthacum (2-4, 2 RBI), Wilmes (1-3, 2 RBI), Staab (1-3), Shear (RBI).
Track and Field
The Varsity boys competed extremely well at the Kearney Invitational Track Meet on Thursday, April 6, and going into the final event Kearney tied with Park Hill South. Park Hill South was able to prevail, but the Bulldogs had numerous personal bests.

High Jump - Zach Proctor: 1st Place, Aden Sallee: 3rd Place
Triple Jump - Cayden Harris: 4th Place
Discus - Zach Grace: 1st Place and Ty Smith: 5th Place
Javelin - Theo Grace: 1st Place, Aiden Smith: 2nd Place, and Ty Smith: 3rd Place
Shot Put - Zach Grace: 4th Place
The Lady Bulldogs took advantage of the home crowd and the best conditions so far this season as they ran away with the team title. The ladies once again used a complete team effort and supported one another all evening.
Jadyn Barnes had a special evening as she set TWO new school records. She broke her previous 400 record and then added her name as the 200 record holder.

Girls Soccer
On Wednesday, April 5, the Girls Soccer Team traveled to Raytown and dominated both the JV and Varsity matches.
The JV squad ended their game at halftime with a score of 10-0. Goals were scored by Kylee Smith (3), Lauren Rose (3), Emmy Gates (2), Ella Olberding, and Danielle Duncan with the first goal of her career. The JV record is now 3-1.
The Varsity crew, battling a few injuries, started off slow, but finished the game strong with a 6-0 win over the cardinals. Goals were scored by Maddi Stevens, Bri Reynolds (2), Addy Fischer, Kylee Smith, and Emmy Gates. The Varsity record is now 4-3.
Boys Tennis
On Thursday, April 6, the entire tennis team headed to Oak Park to battle it out on the courts. The Varsity Bulldogs just fell short of a win ending the night 4-5. The JV Bulldogs saw a lot of success on the courts ending the night 7-2.
