Deputy Bransfield Honored by Commission

Deputy Jonathan Bransfield, who talked a teen down from the Worlds of Fun water tower, was honored by the Clay County Commission on Wednesday, June 7.

Kansas City Missouri Police located the middle school teen actively climbing the water tower and he said he wanted to speak only with Deputy Bransfield, the School Resource Deputy at his middle school.

The teen told Deputy Bransfield he wanted him to come so he could say good-bye and thank him for all he’d done for him. Deputy Bransfield engaged him in conversation about his struggles, and after about 40 minutes, he was able to convince the boy to climb down safely.

In addition to the resolution from the Clay County Commission, Deputy Bransfield was also recognized with a resolution from the Missouri State Capitol.
