After months of investigation, Clay County Deputies shut down fentanyl dealers in Avondale this weekend.

On the morning of Jan. 7, the Special Tactics and Response (STAR) Team served search warrants at 2703 N. Bellefontaine and 2701 N. Walrond.

Deputies found more than 105 grams of fentanyl inside, which is enough to kill about 52,200 people. They also found paraphernalia for packaging and distributing the drugs. Also in the house were meth, cocaine, five firearms and three suppressors. One of the firearms had been reported stolen.

Garrett Moulder, 38, has been charged with two counts of drug trafficking, unlawful use of a weapon and theft of a firearm. Elizabeth Dye, 31, has been charged with one count of drug trafficking and one count of drug possession. Both are being held on $100,000 bonds.

The Sheriff's Office's Special Operations Squad and Drug Task Force jointly investigated the case.
