Bulldogs Crush Warriors in Highway 92 Match

The Kearney Bulldogs Boys Basketball team put the bite down on the Smithville Warriors on Friday, February 16 in a Highway 92 Showdown. From the tip to the final buzzer Kearney was in control throughout the game. The Bulldogs dominated the Warriors, 72-57.

Davin Hanna scored 25 points against the Smithville Warriors in a Highway 92 rivalry

The Bulldogs and Warriors began the game scoring and answering until Kearney went on a scoring drive by Davin Hanna, Cameron Webster, Canton Woods and Drew Wilson that propelled them 9 points ahead. Smithville would make a few buckets to answer, but at the end of the quarter, it was Kearney, 18 and Smithville, 12.

The second quarter the Bulldogs kept their offensive explosion going, but Smithville would not give up. Both teams scored 17 in the quarter and went to half time 35-29, Kearney.

The buckets fell for the Bulldogs in the second half as they did in the first, earning three players double digit scores and giving Kearney the win, 72-57.

Top scoring honors go to Davin Hanna with 25 points, Drew Wilson with 20, and Harvey Sayon with 15 points. Cameron Webster contributed 5 points, and Aden Sallee and Canton Woods each made 3 points. Tanner Brock also got his name in the scorebook, making one free throw shot.

This was Kearney’s last regular season home game. They travel to Grandview on Tuesday, February 20 to face the Bulldogs.
