KEC Appoints New Executive Director

The Kearney Enrichment Council (KEC) is excited to announce the appointment of Laurence Gration as the new Executive Director as of 20th of May 2024.

“Laurence’s appointment brings a wealth of experience in the nonprofit world, and are we thrilled to bring new and exciting thinking and new activities to Kearney, and the Enrichment Council,” KEC President Jason Hoyt said.

After an intense search process, the Council chose Gration because of his extensive background in nonprofits, the local community, and his well-rounded experience in bringing people together for a common goal.

A Kearney resident for more than 6 years, Gration will combine his impressive academic education, including a MA from Sydney University alongside degrees in business, communications, labor relations, sports management, along with his years as an executive director in the widest possible range of nonprofit support organizations.

Gration also bring decades long expertise as a nonprofit and community organization Board member, including a current directorship on the Kansas City Society of Association Executives, and recently as the Vice President of the Kearney Saddle Club.

“Being able to bring my expertise to my hometown is an honor and a privilege,” Gration said. “I look forward to collaborating with the Council and the community to strengthen the programs in place, working with kids and seniors, and to expand the overall Kearney experience, supporting the town and the people.”

With the impending opening of the expanded Spark Center, it is an exciting time for the community in Kearney, and in hiring Laurence Gration this will take the organization a step further in downtown enrichment, and the community will only get richer from this appointment.
