Kearney Chamber Hosts Virtual Nonprofit Showcase

The Kearney Chamber of Commerce is hosting its first virtual Nonprofit Showcase, presented by D’Creamery, November 1 through December 1.

Because of COVID nonprofit chamber members have not been able to host their usual fundraisers and donation drives. They are sorely lacking in meeting their budgets and in gathering resources to help local families during the holidays.

In an attempt to help, the Kearney Chamber of Commerce will host this virtual showcase. It has been designed to highlight the extraordinary work of our member not-for-profits, and to provide an opportunity for all community members to learn more about the needs within these 12 area organizations and to easily connect with them.

Nonprofits to be featured include: Fulfillment House, Inc., Good Samaritan Center of Excelsior Springs, Kearney Community Foundation, Kearney Enrichment Council, Kearney Family Foundation, Kearney Food Pantry, Kearney Historic Museum, Kearney Holt Productions, Kearney School District Education Foundation, Kearney-Holt CAN Community Acting Now, Northland Therapeutic Riding Center, and The Rose Lowenstein Foundation for Childhood Cancer Awareness.

To garner community interest, visitors to the showcase will have the opportunity to register to win $100 Chamber Cash and will be asked to vote for their favorite participating charity, the winner of which will be awarded a $500 grant.

We are grateful to our corporate sponsors for supporting this event and our non-profits, including Platte-Clay Electric Cooperative, Tracy Tucker State Farm Insurance, Academy Bank, and Hidden Valley Funeral Homes of Kearney. The event’s Presenting Sponsor is D’Creamery.

Lisa Hoffman, D’Creamery co-owner, with her husband Dallas, shared her reason for supporting the event, “the non-profits are very dear to us and really do the most for our community!”

According to Chamber Executive Director, Stacie Bratcher, “Our goal is to provide a space for our nonprofits to not only share information, but to also truly connect with those looking for ways to get more involved. This will be an event where the nonprofit groups will be able to recruit volunteers and share their most pressing needs.”

The event will culminate on December 1st, the National Day of Giving, otherwise known as Giving Tuesday. Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. “We hope the community will give generously,” said Bratcher.

The Kearney Chamber of Commerce is in the relentless pursuit of a vibrant and prosperous business community. It has a vision for all businesses to flourish and become an impactful leader in the community, to be a reliable resource for the people who live, work, and play here, and to be equipped to embrace the future of our community.
