KSD Updates Football Guidelines for Spectators

The Kearney School District announced expectations for Friday night football games beginning with the Fort Osage/Kearney game on August 28. The statement of health and safety guidelines is based on recommendations from the CDC, Clay County Public Health Center, MSHSAA and the Kansas City Suburban Conference. Guidelines may change as needed throughout the season based on new recommendations.

In the statement, KSD announced that all athletic/activity events will be closed to the general public, and students, staff, parents, and community members without tickets will not be permitted to enter the high school campus during Friday night football games. Two tickets per home game will be issued to each participating athlete, band member, dance team member, and cheerleader. Tickets will be distributed by the head coach/directors. Visiting teams will receive two tickets per participating athlete and cheerleader.

As in situations since March, people are expected to social distance at least 6 feet apart and masks are required to be worn by spectators at all times when not eating or drinking. Limited concessions will be available when possible in the concourse area.

Ticketed spectators will be expected to sit in the stadium and spectators will not be allowed on the track or field after games. To assist in this process, KSD ask that only approved spectators be on campus for an event. Parking lots and school grounds will be closed except for those attending events.

The school district also says that anyone not complying with safety guidelines will be asked to leave.

If you cannot attend the game, the Bulldog Radio Network will be broadcasting the game live on 102.7FM and on our website at 1027KearneyMO.com. Pre-game starts at 6:40pm, and game time is at 7:00pm.
