KSD Updates Football Guidelines for Spectators

The Kearney School District announced expectations for Friday night football games beginning with the Fort Osage/Kearney game on August 28. The statement of health and safety guidelines is based on recommendations from the CDC, Clay County Public Health Center, MSHSAA and the Kansas City Suburban Conference. Guidelines may change as needed throughout the season based on new recommendations.

Opening Bulldog Football Game Comes Home

Kearney High School announced that the first football game of the 2020 season has changed locations and will be coming home. The Bulldogs were slated to play at Fort Osage High School on Friday, August 28, but due to Jackson County restrictions to outdoor gatherings, the Bulldogs will host the Indians at home.

Spectator restrictions will be in place as required by the Clay County Public Health Center, so not all fans will be able to view the game in the stadium. Details regarding the specifics related to spectator attendance is expected to be released on Thursday.

On Monday, August 24, twenty-seven schools in the Kansas City metro area voted unanimously to continue with all fall activities that are offered in the Greater Kansas City Suburban Conference (GKCSC). Fall activities include the following sports governed by the conference: Boys and Girls Cross Country, Football, Girls Golf, Boys Soccer, Softball, Boys Swimming and Diving, Girls Tennis, and Volleyball.
