Bulldog Girls Trounce Raytown South Cardinals 29-16

The Kearney Bulldog girls basketball team traveled to Raytown South on Monday for the final match-up of the season, finishing with a 29-16 win over the Cardinals.

Eight players contributed to the win in a classic team effort. Freshman JoJo Kutch had a game high 8 points, connecting on 2 three point field goals. Kenzi Hoffman scored 6 and Jadyn Barnes had 5 points. Maddi Stevens, Kenzi Kutch, Gracie Bomar, Shelby Holst and Everett Mack contributed 2 points each.

Senior Braelyn Rivera led in rebounds, pulling down 7. Sophomore Jadyn Barnes took 2 charges on the defensive end.

The win brings the girls’ varsity record to 8-12 overall and 6-2 in conference play.

The Bulldogs received the number-2 seed in the Class 5 District 16 Bracket, which means Kearney will square off against 3-seed Platte County in the opening round of District play on Monday, March 1, at the Kearney Fieldhouse.
