Meetings with the Mayor

The City of Kearney has placed the Use Tax question on the April 6th ballot, and Mayor Randy Pogue is taking every opportunity to inform and educate residents about what the Use Tax is and is not. He has been distributing information via social media, videos and conventional media, as well as talking to people face to face.

The Citizens of Excelsior Springs, Liberty, Smithville, Clay County and Platte City have all supported their City/County governments to adopt the Use Tax.

“I am scheduling a Meet with the Mayor meeting to be conducted here at City Hall, and on Zoom, so I might spend some time explaining what this Use Tax is, and how I plan to see it be used to provide improved City services to our residents,” said Mayor Pogue.

Meetings are scheduled for Thursday, March 18th at 6:30 pm, and Thursday April 1st at 1 pm.

Meeting information will be placed on the 102.7FM KPGZ web site, the Courier- Tribune, and the city’s Facebook page, including links to the Zoom and YouTube feed. Citizens are invited to join Mayor Pogue live at City Hall or via Zoom and ask questions about the Use Tax or any other city issues.
