“Operation Safe’s member organizations will continue to share and host vaccination opportunities in the months ahead, especially as we work to ensure everyone in our community gets equitable access to this level of protection against COVID,” stated the Clay County Public Health Center.

Operation Safe was founded by Liberty Hospital, Clay County Public Health Center, the cities of Liberty, Gladstone, Smithville, Kearney and Excelsior Springs and William Jewell College. Cerner, a global health care technology company, North Kansas City Hospital, and the City of North Kansas City joined Operation Safe just weeks later. North Kansas City Hospital and Liberty Hospital were collectively named one of 16 high throughput vaccination providers designated by the State of Missouri.

This first vaccination clinic took place on Feb. 4, 5 and 6 at the Cerner World Headquarters in North Kansas City.
