Two Arrested After Roadside Assault

An act of kindness led to two individuals arrested and another transported to an area hospital on Tuesday morning after an altercation on I-35 between Kearney and Holt.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a good Samaritan pulled over on southbound I-35 in Clay County when he saw two people whose car appeared to be broken down. The Samaritan reported that he came into contact with an adult and a juvenile, and was eventually assaulted when he began to render assistance.

Troopers responded to the call and arrested the two alleged assailants while the victim was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

The Highway Patrol has not released the victim’s or suspects’ names in this case as the investigation is still ongoing.
