Smithville Girls Edge Lady Bulldogs 29-28

The Kearney girls’ basketball team moved to 3-9 overall in a close loss to the Smithville Warriors. Smithville took an early lead and held on for the win despite a strong second half effort by the Bulldogs.

Jadyn Barnes, number 32, battles against the Smithville defense. Barnes scored 8 points in the contest.

Maddi Stevens was the Bulldogs’ leading point-scorer with 11. Jadyn Barnes had 8 and JoJo Kutch had 4 points on the evening. Stevens was 3 of 8 on 3-pointers and Macy Hughes was 1 of 4 beyond the 3-point line.

The loss to Smithville was the first conference loss for the Bulldogs. They are 2-1 in conference standings with wins against Platte County and Ruskin.
