Kearney Man Arrested After High Speed Pursuit

A Kearney man led police on a high speed pursuit when he refused to stop on Thursday, February 9.

Daniel Wyant is being held in Clinton County for felony possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), felony resisting arrest, driving while intoxicated, speeding, driving without a license, and other motor vehicle offenses

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident took place on I-35 at about noon, when 38-year-old Daniel Wyant of Kearney refused to stop for a Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper. The pursuit reached speeds over 100 miles per hour.

When Wyant drove through a construction zone, the Troopers discontinued the pursuit. Wyant tried to drive his vehicle off the road, but became stuck. He was arrested without any further resistance.

Wyant is being held in Clinton County for felony possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), felony resisting arrest, driving while intoxicated, speeding, driving without a license, and other motor vehicle offenses. He is being held on a $50,000 cash only bond.
