The City of Kearney is holding a public meeting to gain input regarding begin the building a public pool.

The public input meeting will take place between 5:30 and 7 pm Monday, April 24, at the Kearney High School Commons, 715 E. 19th Street.

The City of Kearney will be hosting this meeting to hear the needs and interests about having a public pool in Kearney. Families, children and individuals are welcome to attend. The City wants input from residents.

Last summer, City leaders announced an RFQ for an outdoor pool project on the Kearney website's Bid Opportunities page. On Monday, February 7, 2022, the Kearney Board of Alderman approved the Mayor's request to enter into a contract to purchase 11 acres of land to be the future site for a community pool and trailhead for Kearney’s trail system.

The area of land is located at the Southwest corner of 33 Hwy and 19th Street, next to the Greenfield subdivision.
