Fireworks Shows Begin This Weekend

Smithville will have its fireworks display on Saturday, July 1, at Smith’s Fork Park, on the North side of the spillway. This free fireworks show will be set off at dusk, roughly 9 pm. The city’s parks and recreation department  advise that great spots to watch the show are at Smith's Fork Park, on the Lake near the dam, Smith's Fork Campground, and surrounding areas around the park. Parking is available throughout Smith's Fork Park.

The City of Kearney will have its fireworks display on Monday, July 3, at the Kearney Amphitheater. The city will have inflatables for the kids and music featuring Kansas City Groove Therapy. The concert starts at 7:30 pm, and the fireworks start at 9:30 pm.

There will be free inflatable air toys for the children to play in from 5:30 to 8:30 pm, and cotton candy at the amphitheater. Spectators are encouraged to be parked before 9 pm and bring lawn chairs or blankets.

The Liberty 4th Fest will take place on Monday, July 3, at Capitol Federal Sports Complex of Liberty 2200 E. Old 210 Highway. Festivities at the park begin at 6 pm with activities, food trucks and a beer garden. Party band Lost Wax begins to play at 8 pm, and fireworks are set to start at 10 pm.
