Documents in the case state Boedecker fell asleep in a Jeep Patriot with her children on July 3 and 4, 2018. When she woke up, she found the children unresponsive in the hot car. Documents also state that Boedecker took the children to a neighbor’s house to revive them.

The trial evidence revealed that Boedecker had nearly two time the therapeutic amount of Xanex in her system the day first responders arrived and found the children.
