Bulldog sports are in full swing with some great wins. Here’s your KPGZ Bulldog sports recap.

Boys Soccer

The boys soccer team faced a couple of tough opponents this week in Raymore-Peculiar and last year's Class 4 state runner up East High School. The Bulldogs fell 7-0 to East High School and 4-0 to Ray-Pec. The team's record is now 3-3.

The Bulldogs will look to improve next Monday in their first conference game away against Excelsior Springs. JV will play at 5 pm and Varsity to follow at 6:30.

Football

On Friday, September 1st the Bulldogs traveled to battle Class 4 #2 Smithville.

Offensively, Cameron Emmons (24 carries, 225 yards, 2 TDs) and Cohen Jacobs (6 catches, 102 yards, 1 TD) stood out for the Bulldogs.

On defense, Danny Stansbury, Tyler Jarrett, Aiden Smith, Dylan Byrne, Trace Dunlap and Cooper Morrison combined to split 5 TFLs while Smith and Byrne split a sack.

In the kicking game, Jacob Dillon converted a PAT and scored a 2 pt conversion on a fake extra point. Brock Colhour added 77 kick return yards for the Bulldogs.

In the end, the Warriors took the game, 41-21.

Softball

On Thursday, September 7, the Varsity softball team played Oak Park at home. The Bulldogs were able to win the game in 5 innings with a score of 13-1.

Macy Morrow went 1-3

Savannah McDowell went 1-1

Ryleigh Van Emmerik went 2-4 with 2 RBIs

Brooke Paalhar went 4-4 with 3 RBIs

Morgan Pennington went 1-2 with 1 RBI

Jocelyn Lincoln went 1-3 with 2 RBIs

Kennedi Casey went 2-3

Kate Landewee went 1-3 with 1 RBI

Sela Lowrance had 1 RBI

Sela Lowrance pitched all 5 innings. She struck out 6 and only allowed 5 hits.

Varsity's record is now 10-4.

Cross Country

The girls cross country team finished 6th and the boys team finished 10th at Ray Pec. 

Heidi Adams led the team in 17th place with a time of 20:47. Alex Kinstler was 20th in 20:59. Olivia Brock was 35th in 21:46. Jordin Vaughn was 42nd in 22:12. Daisy Burnam was 58th in 23:03 to round out team scoring. Our 6th runner was Delaney Thurston in 23:28 for 69th place and Avery Morgan was 75th in 23:47.

The boys team was led by Isaac Smith in 18:25 for 45th place. Rylee Johnson was 47th in 18:32. Max Morehouse was 49th in 18:38. Carter Smith was 62nd in 18:50. Bradly Barton rounded out the team scoring in 66th place in 19:01. The scoring runners were within 36 seconds of each other. 

Our 6th runner was Jackson Elsea in 73rd place in 19:22. Cameron Daniel was 75th in 19:30. Seth Thomas was 76 in 19:40 and Alex Gustafson was 77 in 19:40.4.

Volleyball

On Thursday, September 7, the volleyball team traveled to St. Joe Central. The C Team opened up the night with a tough 3 set loss. They lost 25-27, then won 25-19 and lost the 3rd set 9-15. The JV team took care of business and won in 2 sets (25-16, 25-18).

The Varsity won in 4 sets (25-16, 25-27, 25-21, 25-13). Stat Leaders on the night:

Addie Andrew and Madison Browning each had 10 kills on the night, followed by Brook Llewellyn with 9. Bella Ah-Mu tacked on 5 ace serves and had 34 assists and 2 blocks. Kate Martens had 25 digs.

C Team Record: 1-2

JV Record: 2-1

Varsity Record: 6-3
