Oktoberfest Scheduled October 7

The Kearney Enrichment Council is hosting Kearney’s 12th Annual Oktoberfest this year on Saturday, October 7, in downtown Kearney.

The all-day festival features five bands on two stages, carnival on East Washington Street, toddler area in Lions Park, great food, beer, and so much more.

Oktoberfest begins at noon at the Nelson Home Group Main Stage with a welcome and Mayor’s Keg Tapping. Following that there will be live music and performances by Studio 320 dancers.

There will also be several competitions throughout the day including the barmaid, stein holding, keg rolling and lil’ mister and miss competitions.

Musical entertainment this year includes appearances by the Brian McCarty Polka Band as well as Funk Syndicate, Tripolar, the Damien Gunn Band, and the Craftsman.

Other attractions at the festival include a carnival, mechanical bull, inflatables, local artisan vendors area, beer garden, and food court.

There is no entrance fee, just $15.00 per person wristband for the activities in the carnival area on East Washington. Pre-purchased wristbands can be picked up Friday, October 6th between 9 am and 2 pm at the Old Firehouse Community Center (106 S. Jefferson Street), or Saturday, October 7th after 12 pm at the Will Call tent next to Kearney Historic Museum (Hwy 33 & Washington Street)
