The Beat Goes On in Lion’s Park This Summer

Like most live music events in 2020, Kearney’s Music in the Park fell victim to cancelation because of the pandemic. The Kearney Enrichment Council and Downtown Kearney project has brought back the tradition of outdoor live music to a welcoming audience.

The Enrichment Council is organizing free live music in Lions Park. The beautifully refurbished bandstand and park are perfect choices for local bands to entertain in Kearney. The park also features a new walking trail, expanded parking, new playground equipment, refurbished shelters, and the splashpad.

This summer’s line-up of bands includes:

  • July 30 – Sass Monkey (classic rock variety)

  • August 6 – Oasis (variety)

  • August 13 – Groove Pilots (classic rock variety)

  • August 20 – Tracy Allison Band (country and variety)

  • September 3 – Michael Neal Band (country)

Concerts start at 6 pm at the Lion’s Park bandstand, and generally end around dusk.
