No Excuse Absentee Voting Now Available

Missouri voters are able to cast an absentee ballot without an excuse now through November 7. The Clay County Board of Elections will accept absentee ballots at the annex building at 1901 NE 48th St., Kansas City or the Board of Elections office at 100 W. Mississippi St., in Liberty.

A new election law gives Missouri voters the two weeks before Election Day to cast an in-person, no excuse absentee ballot. Missourians were required to have a reason, such as illness or disability before the new law went into effect.

Missourians must now present a valid photo ID to vote in person. Voters must show a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, state ID, military ID or a U.S. passport. Voter ID cards are no longer valid forms of ID for voting.
